Get to Know Us

Grant Wildman and I have known each other just about our entire lives. Grant grew up in McCall, ID where my Aunt Stephanie Gullickson lives. My aunt is extremely close to Grant's mother Jan. When I would visit my aunt in McCall I would often see Jan and her kids, Chelsie and Grant. Grant hates when I tell people this, but we are actually "God Siblings". My God Mother and Father is Paul and Steph Gullickson...the same as Grant. But do not worry, there is no blood relation. Grant is eight years older than me and when visiting McCall I had the biggest crush on him. I was a goofy child and he was a charming, super cool "McCall boy". Sometimes he would take us out on a boat in McCall lake and I just thought he was the coolest man. I later learned he was so strong that he could shatter eggs with his bare palms; I was wildly impressed after learning that. As we became adults, we would see each other at family functions and usually wind up running into each other and having the most beautiful conversations. My mother Susan used to tease Grant that he could not date her daughter until she was through college. Years later while in adulthood, Grant and I had not seen each other in many years. One evening I was on my couch with my sister-in-law Maria and I started blushing extremely hard, because alone and be told I received an audio message from Grant asking to take me out on a date. Not only was I surprised, but I was so nervous I had no idea what to text the "cool McCall Boy" back. Maria and I sat there giggling and brainstorming on what I could possibly text this man back. A couple weeks later Grant picked me up at my apartment in his BMW, wearing a yellow shirt and holding a red rose...a few months later he told me he loved me, less than a year later we began traveling around the world and four years later we were engaged. Grant and I started dating during a time in our life where we desperately needed to feel free spirited again and maybe even like a kid. The most beautiful part of our relationship has been the feeling of being young, wild and free again. When we began dating... we began running again.
